Today, the Senate passed a bill.
A bill for spending.
A spending bill.
This "breed of bill" is tantamount to $410 billion. Okay, how many more bills are they going to prescribe to our nation that is currently plagued by the doleful economy? Apparently it's composed of over 8,000 earmarks. Great, that just means we don't really know where the money is going. The stimulus package basked in its own limelight just a couple weeks ago... and still nothing. I know that it wasn't going to transform the dire reality into a defectless reverie overnight, but I still expected a lot more! I also heard that Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi revealed that a second stimulus package may be on it's way.
Pretty convenient, I guess.

I think a lot of people are disappointed with Obama's "spend to make money" recovery plan. Convenient indeed.
ReplyDeleteI really agree with your perspective of this stimulus package. I do not really know whats going on with it. What does the stimulus package promise? Do we really know everything about it? I feel that the government should communicate with its people more.
ReplyDeleteour opinions are similar. GREAT BLOG (:
Eh, unfortunately I think that spending is the only way to go. There's not really any option left...unless you give extra money to the middle class and tell them to invest in the free market. In economic downturns its always usually best to have big government control over the market.
